Facts and thoughts and 1 request:

I am amazed at how many people "fear things for my team going into Africa"

In my life I know - if God spoke something - Goliath will meet a stone.Period.

Why do people fear Africa so much?

In YWAM - God made it VERY CLEAR - IT IS TIME FOR AFRICA.

MOST OF YOU in YWAM reading this will most likely be involved in Africa over the next 5 years. It might be base intercession, training, outreaches or ships passing the extended coast... AFRICA is on the lips in the world of missions. It is the hub of most Christians world wide.

We NEED AND MUST train Africans to GO and reach the 3 Billion unreached groups outside this reached continent. (Non-Muslim slice on the PDF is Africa and the BIG yellow, bigger than the rest of the world are the Christians in Africa.

BRING YOUR TEAMS and BE BRAVE LIKE DAVID.

Floods can flow in Africa as they currently do

destroying roads waiting for us...

The sangomas can wail at night as they intimidate

Bribery we will have to content with too

Muddy roads and slippery problems

and who knows what animals in open fence Botswana will bring us.

For our team of 5 reality is this that:

He is the Path - How can we get lost.

He is the Light - Dark Africa is not dark. Just blind.

He is the Way - GPS helps but Holy Spirit will speak.

He is Love. Love is a Person. Fear cannot abide with us.

He created us with brains: we shall try not be stupid is as stupid does

Did we need encouragement - yes. Then we had a visitor!

How great is it that Kobus van Niekerk could spend an evening with us around fire and food, discussing the various aspects of Africa. With a lifetime of experience we could ask any questions.

I feel at complete peace about everything.

Everything includes all of the above and

  • the finance still needed

  • I will be doing an extended 3 day off road course and need R7000 ($420)

  • the food we will encounter (or lack of it)

  • All of us still need our bike insurance finance

  • All of us still need finance for our insurance (R10 000 for the team for 3 months)

we are going.

and we ask you to cover us in prayer.

it is not a holiday.

it is a spiritual assignment

it will be spiritual warfare (as some of us started to realize fairly quickly)

KOBUS CHALLENGED US WITH ONE QUESTION

Pray and ask God if you should have a recovery vehicle follow you

SO! I put it out there: Pray for us that we KNOW this answer,

& if someone should get a YES from God, that we will soon know about it.

I have a wonderful Intercession group that pray Fridays @3PM

Join them if you can.

It is official

The College of Bible Engagement is a new college under the University of the Nations (UofN.edu)

Two of us on the team are from Africa. Soon we will meet on our lovely continent and I just pray that our motorbike will make it in time to Arusha and Kenya!!!

Rob is leading us and seeing that I could not make the first meeting in America, I am REALLY looking forward meeting the team in 4 months from now.

On this big 14 Nations trip, I will be meeting training leaders and base leaders on our path up North, discussing with them potential outreaches for our students in this college.

Is this not totally crazy cool that God told me to take motorbikes, visit all the bases, go North to Arusha and then I get this awesome job description. I LOVE IT!

Small testimony:

I started leading my Bible study group this week and trained them briefly how to "pray back the scripture" they were reading for the day. None of them has done this before and SWEET was the presence of God when we actually did this! The group will be reading through the bible in 6 months again but it is no use reading it all and not knowing how to engage in prayer and practicum with what we read.

Then God suddenly spoke to me. I used Ps23 to train them, and when it was my turn, I had to tell the group what line stood out for me. I just picked a line and when I prayed it back to God... it felt like a LOVE BOMB went off in my heart and mind. It was so unexpected. I had the Afrikaans translation which reads: 23:5c "U ontvang my soos n eregas" - You welcome me like an honored guest. Holy Spirit simply encouraged me deep in my heart towards our YWAM bases and leaders that I will be meeting.

RESTING after Christmas WAS GREAT

F.C. preached Christmas day and we had lovely fellowship.

Many of you know Mandi, our University of the Nations' Registrar-Brain and she came! It was lovely to have her here. It was also great to have riders from the well respected Christian Motorcycle Association here.

Then I sat at the mouth of the river going into the ocean... tide by tide. Up and down the river we floated (sometimes super fast) depending the tide flowing in or out. Then I would take out my snacks and coffee and stay for hours under my amazing blue shade. LOVE my shade!
