KNOCK KNOCK
KNOCK KNOCK

About my Brother FC.

HOW F.C. RECEIVED HIS WORD TO GO

I asked my brother to pray, asking God if he should join us on this trip. My dad never encouraged motorbikes due to the danger of it. I was super surprised when God actually asked me to do this trip with a motorbike but as you read my news yesterday - I never could have imagined it would turn out to be for a much greater purpose I originally intended.

I was fully aware that it would come at a great cost (not only financially, but for his entire family). The cost for me is an emotional one, having to trust God SUPER DEEP seeing that I have lost 2 brothers and that motorbikes are dangerous, not even to mention Africa. It was NOT an easy ask.

Yet, I asked because of the amazing calling on his life and what God is doing in and through him. He is a GREAT preacher. He loves God! He shared with us recently how God is drawing him into ministry. Being on the ground in Africa would show him so much.

Finally, he asked God for a clear sign, and only he and his wife knew what the sign was. I did not know what it was.

A while later, someone gave me money to buy a bike for my brother (without his knowledge). It was part of a tithe. This person said that if FC does not go on the trip, they really feel like giving it to him. I secretly found a bike for that price and drove 480km to pick it up and drive it back. I planned to give him the keys when he walked into my house (which he does every single day). When I arrived in Stilbaai, I parked the bike, making plans as to how to surprise him. In the end, I decided to actually drive the bike to his house, hoping he would be there.

I came to his house, parked the bike, and walked in. I placed the key in an envelope with the paperwork. Once he realised what happened, his face turned white, and he ran outside with his wife shortly behind him.

What I did not know was that his sign, which only his wife Corine knew about, was that someone had to park a motorcycle "on the house" outside his house, under the tree, and bring the keys to him inside the house.

His boys were there to witness the entire ordeal, including Corine who's face was also... priceless for a long time.

Knock, knock.
Who's there?
Leaf.
Leaf who?
Leaf me alone... (ok... just joking!)

Jesus’ Teaching on Knock-Knock and shameless audacity (NIV version)

Luke11:2-13  Jesus said to them, “When you pray think about this:

““Suppose your missionary friend, comes to you at midnight and say, ‘Hey, sorry to wake you up with that email! Please give me three loaves of bread;  my brother is on a missions journey and has come to me, and I have no extra food to offer him.’ And suppose (Jesus suggests), the friend inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. I already gave my bread and tithe to my church, and my wife and kids and friends will see you as a begging friend.

This is Jesus teaching his disciples about prayer...

Jesus says that the answer seems to be a very clear NO from the friend,

but... Jesus keeps on going:

I (Jesus) tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity to keep knocking he will surely get up and give you as much as you need...

9 “So I say to you: KNOCK and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; to THE ONE who knocks, the door will be opened and the loaves given.

11 “Which of you friends, if your missionary friend asks for  a bread for outreach, will give him a fat ignore instead? 12 Or if he asks for a spare tire, will give him a thumbs up and say: "I am praying for you!" Then walks away and forget to pray.

I am the beggar on behalf of my brother today. My actual brother.

and its ok.

It is ok to have shameless audacity at this hour.

If God provides why did Jesus teach us to knock on our neighbor's door.

If God provides why did Paul had to ask the church to set money aside.

...it is because God gives through the Body to the Body.

Thus, here I am knocking.

KNOCK KNOCK

Who is there?

Sarah

Sarah Who

Sarah Anna-Lise

Do give in secret.

In the end it is for Jesus and HIS kingdom.
